Briess Caramel 10L Malt is a roaster-produced crystal malt made from 2-row barley, offering candy-like sweetness and subtle toffee notes alongside light golden caramel color.

Where It Shines

Ideal for adding delicate sweetness, body, and foam stability in lighter styles like pilsners and pale ales—as well as contributing gentle caramel nuance in darker ales, porters, or stouts.

Role in the Brewhouse

A specialty crystal malt with no diastatic power; it improves foam retention, mouthfeel, and contributes glassy, caramelized flavors and color via non-fermentable sugars.

Brewer’s Guidance

Use 3–7% to balance pilsners; 5–10% for lagers from Vienna to California Common; and up to 15% to add color, sweetness, and body to ales ranging from pale ale to stout.
