Weyermann® CARAMUNICH® Type 1 is a medium caramel malt that enhances both flavor and appearance. With a color range of 30–40 Lovibond, it imparts a warm amber hue while contributing rich flavors of caramel, bread crust, and light toffee. Its balanced profile adds depth without overpowering other malt contributions.

Weyermann® CARAMUNICH® Type 1 contributes unfermentable sugars that improve mouthfeel, add fullness, and enhance foam stability. It integrates seamlessly with base malts and specialty grains to create well-rounded beers with balanced caramel sweetness.

Brewer’s Guidance

Use CARAMUNICH® Type 1 at 5–20% of the grist for added complexity, sweetness, and body. Lower percentages provide subtle depth, while higher additions highlight caramel richness and malt-forward character.
