Briess Flaked Rice delivers a light, crisp character with very little flavor impact, producing a clean and highly drinkable beer with reduced body and color.

Where It Shines

Most often used in American lagers, international lagers, and cream ales where a dry, refreshing finish and lighter malt impression are desired.

Role in the Brewhouse

A pre-gelatinized flaked adjunct that contributes fermentable extract but requires base malt for conversion, as it has no enzymatic power.

Brewer’s Guidance

Use 10–25% of the grist to achieve a drier finish, lighter body, and paler color without altering flavor balance.
