Weyermann® CARAFOAM® Malt is a specialty malt crafted to improve head retention, body, and mouthfeel while maintaining a delicate profile. With a pale color of 1.5–2.0 Lovibond, it adds virtually no impact to flavor or color, making it a subtle yet powerful tool in recipe formulation.

Where It Shines

Ideal for lighter beers such as Lagers, Pilsners, Kölsch, and Wheat Beers, Carafoam® enhances foam stability and smoothness without overshadowing base malts or hops. It is also useful in modern hazy styles where mouthfeel and body are essential to balance hop intensity.

Role in the Brewhouse

Weyermann® CARAFOAM® contributes dextrins and proteins that improve head retention and body. It integrates seamlessly into the mash, supporting mouthfeel and stability across a wide range of styles while maintaining clarity and balance in the finished beer.

Brewer’s Guidance

Use Carafoam® at 5–20% of the grist to refine foam, body, and texture. Smaller percentages improve stability subtly, while higher usage provides a fuller mouthfeel—especially effective in light lagers, wheat beers, and sessionable styles.
