Viking Vienna Malt is a specialty base malt that brings balanced malt sweetness with inviting notes of toast, biscuit, and light caramel. With a color range of 3.5–4.5 Lovibond, it imparts a warm golden-amber hue while adding both depth and smoothness to the beer’s profile.

Where It Shines

This malt is traditionally used in Vienna Lagers, Märzens, and other malt-forward European styles. It also works well in Amber Ales and specialty lagers where a richer malt foundation is desired without overpowering sweetness.

Role in the Brewhouse

Viking Vienna Malt can serve as a base malt or as a specialty addition to enhance flavor complexity and body. Its moderate enzymatic activity supports full conversion, making it versatile for use as 100% of the grist or blended with Pilsner or Munich malts for layered malt character.

Brewer’s Guidance

Use Vienna Malt at 10–100% of the grist depending on the recipe. Smaller additions provide gentle malt richness, while higher percentages create a smooth, toasty backbone ideal for Märzens, Vienna Lagers, and other malt-driven beers.
