Simpsons Roasted Barley Malt is unique in that it is produced from unmalted barley, giving it a sharper, more pronounced roasted flavor compared to malted equivalents. It adds unfermentable material that enhances body, dryness, and roasted bitterness while deepening both color and aroma.

Brewer’s Guidance

Use Roasted Barley at 3–10% of the grist depending on the desired level of roast intensity. Lower percentages add subtle color and dryness, while higher usage delivers full-bodied roasted bitterness and robust coffee-like character essential for stouts.
