Columbus/Tomahawk/Zeus showcases aromas of Oily fresh citrus and wild herbal character. Typical alpha acids are around 14.3 percent, giving you plenty of room to tune bitterness and aroma.
With enough alpha acids for bittering and plenty of expressive oils, this hop works well from first wort additions through whirlpool and dry hopping. Offered in classic T-90 pellet form, it is easy to store, measure, and use in any home brewery. The 1 lb package is ideal for frequent brewers, big hop bills, or splitting across multiple batches.
For a standard 5 gallon batch, a single hop schedule works very well. Use a modest 0.5 to 0.75 ounce addition at 60 minutes, then follow with 1 to 3 ounces split between whirlpool and dry hopping. Because the alpha acid level is on the higher side, start with smaller bittering additions and increase only if needed.
