A biscuit-style roasted malt with deep golden to brown hues (~28°L), offering toasty, biscuity, nutty bread aromas and clean flavor.

Where It Shines

Perfect for nut brown ales, amber beers, ESBs, porters, and to add complexity in IPAs or darker lagers.

Role in the Brewhouse

A specialty toasted malt—adds aroma, flavor, and color while offering moderate extract (~75%) without impacting mash performance.

Brewer’s Guidance

Use 2–8% for subtle flavor, 5–15% for amber richness, or up to 25% in Scotch ales or dark beers for bold biscuit and toast notes.
